Introduction
Political stability is a prominent part of a properly functioning and mature parliamentary government. It often mirrors a country’s economic growth and the administration of the ruling government as they are deeply interconnected to one another. In every democratic country particularly Malaysia, the electoral voting system plays a huge role in determining which political party or coalition of parties will be able to secure the support of a majority of the MPs or the majority of seats in the Dewan Rakyat to form the next Executive Government. In order to earn voters' trust for future General Elections (GE), the MPs in their respective political parties should not be disingenuous by jumping from their ships or “floor-crossing” due to lack of confidence in the leadership by leaving their party for personal gains which then would discourage voters to cast their votes in future GEs.
