Recently, the matter of unilateral child conversion to Islam has been the talk of the town. The interest of the public on this matter becomes prevalent, following the viral issue with the unilateral conversion of Loh Siew Hong’s minor children to Islam without her consent. Consequently, on the 16th of February 2022, the Perlis Mufti admitted via a video posted on Facebook that the father of Loh Siew Hong’s children had unilaterally converted the said children to Islam. It was also claimed by the Perlis Mufti that the conversion of the said children is valid.
